MELT - A Stitch in Time - EP REVIEW

"Melt combine pop sensibilities with the better elements of lighter goth and cool prog bands on its new EP.  This collection opens with the Middle Eastern-flavored "Through the Doors" which riffs along at the beginning and has cool pre-chorus cooing from singer Rachel Drucker. Big hooks and riffs jaunt through "Home," a pretty love song perfectly placed in the middle.  Drucker is often compared to some of the more powerful female classic rockers but reviewers shouldn't sell her talents short. The vocals on this tune are spot on and the acoustic guitar parts are a nice touch.  "Comfortable," another lovely little number, shows the band's versatility:  Great harmonies and a really catchy hook, reminiscent of "Every Breath You Take" by The Police. On "No Fear," the band continues to explore some untraditional rhythms with success.  Very cool guitar synthesizer parts by Nils Freiberger, great lead and background vocals, and hooky bass parts from Paul Pipitone.  All and all, an excellent second effort by Melt."

MELT - LIVE REVIEW 4/10/08

"Melt hits the stage with singer Rachel Drucker, the Pat Benatar of Boston, who executes a commanding performance with an infectious smile and energetic antics. Even a down song like “Empty on the Inside” cannot be resisted and has the audience singing along. Nils Freiberger on guitar, Paul Pipitone on bass, and Scott Maher on drums (his last night with the band) produce a danceable set of upbeat and engaging rock. The band dedicates a Siouxie & the Banshees cover to Anderson."

MELT - LIVE REVIEW

"I saw this band last week and like them alot. They have an up-to-date present
sound, mixed with sounds from the past with a combination of goth, pop, metal,

and alternative rock . They are a great band to see live; energetic, dynamic and

fun. Rachel has a very powerful voice with a great range. I llike their

songwriting too and they are great musicians too.  Very infectious stuff that

stays in your head.

I had a hard time picking a song to play from the demo but I decided on "Thought

the Doors".  It kinda hypotizes you and draws you in and then the chorus hits

and kicks you in the head, which I like."

MELT - CD Review

Fronted by sweet voiced singer Rachel Drucker, Melt fans the flames of
classic new wave rock while crafting their own sugar and strychnine
version of future pop.

MELT - CD Review
Melt
7 songs

"Melt’s CD starts off with a powerful Soundgarden sounding riff, then turns a bit goth
when the vocals kicked in: “without a voice of their own, tearing the flesh off from the bone.”
I’m trying to figure out what the singer is talking about, I wish I had lyrics. The musicians
definitely have an urge to play metal; at times they sound like a lot like Iron Maiden.
On one song the lyrics repeat: “Used and abused” which is also a refrain in the
Iron Maiden song “Fear is the Key”; just a strange coincidence I imagine. I did
some googling and found out that Paul Pipitone and Nils Freiberger had been in
the much-fussed-about-in-The-Noise band Lunargirl. I never did hear Lunargirl,
but it does sound like Nils and Paul are doing music they are really into now, letting
loose and having a lot of fun. Rachel Drucker, their singer, has a very powerful voice
which goes into Pat Benatar territory when she belts. I would love this band to cover
“Hell is For Children”; they would kick ass on that song"

MELT – “MELT” : 7 Tracks : 2006
"A good alternative pop rock venture from a female

fronted  New England band. Production and mix is decent and color inserts are a plus.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see this band get some radio play on rock stations as the music

fits with the modern rock scene yet they have enough originality to make an impact without

being a clone. Musically I enjoyed their opening song “Subsidized”, as well as “Lullaby” and

“Want”. No lyric sheet included with inserts. Hopefully we’ll see Melt return to the studio with a larger budget
and more songs to deliver a full length release"
